About Us
With 44 years of teaching between us, we know the overwhelming struggles teachers face in providing students with the support they need to become successful readers.
When struggling readers are provided with intensive, multisensory intervention one-on-one or in small groups, they will thrive as readers. This is exactly what we provide at Dyslexia Specialty Tutoring with the Barton Reading & Spelling System.

Yvette Boulware has worked as an elementary classroom teacher in both Clark County and Washoe County for 17 years. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a certified teacher in Nevada.
She successfully completed three years in the Early Literacy Cadre, which supports teachers in improving literacy instruction in kindergarten through second grade.
She also provided reading interventions in her classroom for grades 2, 3, and 4.
What she values the most, however, is the experience of having her daughter diagnosed with dyslexia when she was in the 4th grade. She knew that getting the support her daughter needed in the classroom would be difficult.
Yvette decided to seek outside support with a private tutor and was introduced to the Barton Reading & Spelling System.
She and her daughter committed to three years with this program and witnessed firsthand the success it provided. Her daughter is now a successful and confident student reading at grade level.
Since her daughter successfully completed the Barton Method, Yvette’s goal has been to bring this program to as many families in the same situation as possible.
She believes that the Barton Method is the ray of hope that many families of struggling readers are searching for.

Robin Zibull has been an elementary school teacher with Washoe County for 27 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, an Elementary Education Teaching Certificate, and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education, all from the University of Nevada, Reno.
She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy and has an EL (English Learner) endorsement. Most of her teaching experience has been as a classroom teacher in grades 1, 2, 3, and 5, but she was also a reading interventionist for the Reading First Initiative.
Knowing that dyslexia affects 1 student out of every 5, she has seen firsthand the struggles many students face learning to read. Through Robin’s experience as a classroom teacher, she realized how difficult it was to meet the individualized needs of every student, especially those that struggle with reading.
As a reading interventionist, she experienced the positive impact of working with students one-on-one and in small groups using a scientifically research-based reading program, like the Barton Reading & Spelling System.
Robin believes that all children can be taught to read, and her passion is to help students struggling with reading develop the confidence they need to become successful and skilled readers, as well as instill in them the joy of reading.
